Membership

Friends of the Portland Library is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that raises money to support the Portland Library and to provide programs of interest to the community. Donations support the following:

DVD purchases (financed entirely by the Friends)

Museum Pass Program (financed entirely by the Friends)

Children, Teen & Adult Summer Reading Programs

Special events and programs for Children, Teens and Families

Purchase of educational software

Books for Babies

Artist Receptions

Purchase of books for holiday gift baskets given to families served by the Portland Food Bank

Read and Recycle Program

Ongoing book sales plus the Fall Book Sale at Portland Library

Annual newsletter sent to all Portland residents

Programs for the community featuring speakers, musical groups and authors

In these times of tight town budgets, your tax deductible contribution helps to maintain your public Library’s programs and helps to strengthen the fabric of our community. Because we are a 501(c) 3 organization, many companies match their employees’ gifts to the Friends. Membership year is January 1 to December 31, 2018.

The Membership Form, which is in PDF format, can be viewed and printed using the freely available Acrobat Reader software from Adobe Systems Inc. Versions of Acrobat Reader run on DOS, Windows, Macintosh and Unix systems.
